Conditions

Conditions of hire

  1. The Remenham Club is a private club and the committee reserves the right to reject any application. All functions are to be conducted as to cause a minimum of disturbance to the caretaker and none to the neighbours.
  2. The Club is open for hire to:- (a) members for day functions or evening functions.
    (b) Organisations and individuals sponsored by a member who must be in attendance at the function.
  3. Restrictions of hire:-
    1. The Club is not available for hire to members or to individuals sponsored by members for reletting to caterers, conference organisers, etc.
    2. No amplified music is allowed at the premises, i.e. no discos
    3. Any music must stop at 11.20 and the Club must be vacated by twelve midnight.
    4. The Club is not available for hire during the month of June and the fortnight after Henley Royal Regatta.
    5. Remenham Club has a no smoking policy within the Clubhouse itself.

Charges for hire

  1. Weddings Members £350 non members £400
  2. Lunches, dinners, Christenings Members £280 non members £350
  3. Licence for erection of marquee, designated areas only £125
  4. Access to the Club for the day or half a day before the event can be arranged at the full rate quoted (or half-rate).
  5. N.B. these charges are shown exclusive of VAT, which will be levied at the current rate.

Generally

  1. The hire charge covers the use of the club room, grounds, toilets, kitchen, refrigerator, club room furniture, heating and lighting only. Canvas chairs are excluded and the provision of any glasses, crockery and kitchen utensils is the responsibility of the hirer.
  2. All due are payable 21 days before the function and cheques should be drawn in favour of Remenham Club.
  3. At the time of confirming the booking a £100 refundable deposit is required to cover any damage to the Club, clubhouse, grounds or property. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the club room, toilets, kitchen, refrigerator, cooker (if used) furniture and grounds are left in a reasonable condition. This should normally be carried out immediately after the function. All rubbish including bottles, flowers, etc. is to be bagged up and left in the dustbin areas. If confetti is likely to be used please ask your guests to restrict its use to outside the Clubhouse. Cleaning if from the club room is very time consuming and we reserve the right to charge the hirer the extra costs involved in its removal. If caterers are employed all rubbish is to be removed from site. If any rubbish is left we will arrange for it to be cleared and will debit the cost (currently £45.00) from the deposit monies. Providing all is well the deposit or balance will be forwarded to the hirer after the event.
  4. The Club may only provide bar service for members. If you wish to sell intoxicating liquor you or your caterer are responsible for obtaining a licence and the necessary supplies.
  5. The committee will accept no responsibility for loss or damage to the property of the hirer or his/her guests.
  6. Arrangements to view the Club prior to the event by yourself, caterer, florist, etc. must be at the convenience of the caretakers Elizabeth & Jason Wood and therefore appointments must be made with them. Similarly, please make sure that if any contractors wish to drop any items at the Club prior to the hiring day they also make arrangements with Mr. & Mrs. Wood. No responsibility for fruitless journeys can be accepted if adequate arrangements have not been made.
